Muhammad Ali Palace (Manual Palace) – Garbage City in Cairo – City of the dead – Baron Empain Palace – Islamic Quarter – Khan El Khalili Bazaar |
To start your wonderful tour, our tour guide and driver will pick you up from Port Said in a private, air-conditioned car.
The Palace of Prince Muhammad Ali (Manual Palace):
One of the most important people in Egyptian history, Prince Muhammad Ali, built this palace. The Reception Palace, the Clock Tower, the Mosque, the Hunting Museum, the Presidential Palace, and the Private Museum are the six buildings that make up the palace, which is now a museum. It has beautiful furniture and a beautiful garden all around it.
Garbage City in Cairo:
It was founded in 1976 in Mokattam mountain. It holds 20,000 people and is the largest church in Egypt and even the Middle East. Every Sunday, Christians in Cairo get together there. To get to the monastery, you have to cross the Zabbaleen, which is a part of the capital where garbage collectors live and where all the trash is taken care of. So, there is a pretty strong smell in the area. It couldn’t be any more true! From the top of Mokattam Mountain, you can see Cairo in a beautiful way.
The “City of the Dead”:
The city of the dead is like a town in a cemetery or a town in a cemetery. The people live so close to the graves that the shrines look like houses.
Palace of Baron Empain:
If you like old buildings, you should check out the Baron Empain Palace. It is a Hindu-style palace made of reinforced concrete that was modeled after the Angkor Wat temple and has great views of Cairo.
It was made by a French architect, and a Belgian businessman who came to Egypt to work on a railway project lived in it. There are many stories about this house, and some say that the baron still lives there.
Lunch
We’ll stop for a break and use the time to eat and rest. Egyptian food will be served at a restaurant for lunch (drinks not included).
The Muslim Quarter:
The old part of Cairo is one of my favorite places there. On Al-Muizz Street, you can see a lot of old buildings, like mosques, Islamic schools, palaces, and hammams.
Khan El Khalili Bazaar:
You will go to the well-known Cairo market Khan El Khalili. It is the center of the Egyptian capital and is always full of tourists and Egyptians. You can let loose in the different markets, where you can find anything and buy some great handicrafts made by locals.
After that, you’ll be taken to Port Said.
